My Favorite Dad Moment:  The dad who bought his little boy a fur coat.  That’s awesome and so not gender-stereotyping!  I love men confident in their manliness and not afraid to show that they have style, too!

It’s officially the holiday season! You can’t find a parking spot at the stores anymore. Buying a gallon of milk takes an hour and a half of standing in line. If you forgot to schedule a hair appointment last month, like me, you’re out of luck… Everybody is crazy busy. This is definitely a time of stress and anxiety and just too much to do. So why do I like it so much?

If you lost the holiday spirit somewhere along growing up, there is nothing like having little ones around to bring it back. Yes, I actually got teary eyed when I took my 6 month old to get her pictures taken with Santa at the Meier and Frank downtown. I saw that Santa every year of my childhood. When I was in high school I took my younger brother myself, and when my niece was little, I took her there (being called a saint by the other moms when they found out I was waiting in line for hours with someone else’s kid). I took my girls to the store last week to pick up some Christmas lights and we had so much fun! Bea was going absolutely crazy with excitement and Margaret was totally amazed at all the twinkling lights and singing snowmen and just everything. I even got into it and made them crack up for a good 5 minutes by making all of the nutcrackers talk in funny voices.

Wait, was I supposed to be talking about a sale? Oh yeah! We’re having a fantastic sale! I just sent out 30% off one regular price item and 20% off all cribs and mattresses coupons to all of the people on my mailing list, a ton of items will be buy one get one half off, and all regular priced resale clothing will be 15% off. Also, there are a few popular items that might sell out and I’m willing to make special orders and honor the coupon. Don’t have the coupon? Don’t fret, just mention it.

Special Store Hours:

Friday, Nov 28th 9 – 3

Saturday, Nov 29th 10 – 3

Sunday, Nov 30th 10 – 3

I am opening early and closing early on Friday because my husband, the girls and I are hopping on the Max to go downtown and take in all the sights and attend the Tree Lighting. I wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I Need Your Help! October 16, 2008

I want to be your favorite baby, maternity and children’s resale store in Portland, OR! As I head toward having been open for six months, I am eager to know what you think. What do you like? What don’t you like? Is there something you think I should do differently? Do you know of a to-die-for product I should be carrying? Please let me know! Send me an email at ella@queensmab.com and tell me what’s on your mind. Thank you, in advance, for helping me serve you better.

Fall is in the air! September 9, 2008

I love September! Not only because Bea’s birthday is this month, but because there’s just something exciting about the changes all around. Every year I eagerly await that first walk on a brisk Autumn evening where I smell wood fires burning in the houses I pass. I’m looking forward to strolling through the parks with my girls, collecting leaves. I also can’t wait till I can pull out all of my comfy, cozy turtlenecks and thick sweaters. And speaking of clothes…

We have made the transition to Fall clothing! You have to come see the awesome selection of clothing, coats and shoes my wonderful consignors have brought in, just in the last few days. I’m still trying to figure out how to fit it all in the store, but if last weekend was any indication, this might not be a problem. People were buying things before I even had a chance to hang them up! So if you have some great Fall and Winter clothing (or gear) that’s just taking up space in your house, bring it in. If you find it’s all of a sudden chilly, and your kid has no coat, come on in. If you’re just bored and need to get your kid out of the house, stop by.

I hope you enjoy the last days of summer!
